Tom combines 13 years of classroom expertise with a deep foundation in Psychology to drive holistic child development. From leading PE initiatives at HHJS to overseeing strategic growth as a Governor at Hampton High, he understands the education system from the ground up. Tom specialises in building inclusive environments where fun and fair play serve as the catalysts for student achievement and character building.

Having worked as a qualified teacher and UEFA-licensed football coach for over 10 years, Jack draws on his hybrid educational and sporting background to inform his coaching. His passion lies in supporting children and young people to develop a lifelong love of sport. Jack aims to foster a competitive spirit in a safe environment, while instilling an appreciation for teamwork and its benefits to both sport and wider life. He is also a former School Governor, having served on the Achievement and Families Committee at HHJS.
It Began Across the Road
Long before TeamMates was a reality, it was just two childhood friends, Tom and Jack, growing up across the road from one another. From attending the same schools to spending every spare moment on the pitch or the playground, their bond was built on a shared love for sport and the life lessons it provides.
From the Classroom to the Pitch
After qualifying as teachers and gaining years of experience working within the UK school system, Tom and Jack saw an opportunity to do something different. While they loved the classroom, they recognised the untapped potential for lessons to be learned on the pitch.
In 2016, they co-founded TeamMates. They set out to build a coaching company that wasn’t just about winning trophies, but about building better people too.
More Than Just a Game
At TeamMates, we believe that sport is the perfect vehicle for developing character. Whether it’s an after-school football club or a Team Building event, our mission remains the same: to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can truly be themselves and enjoy playing sport.
We don’t just reward the winning goal; we celebrate kindness, cooperation, and problem solving. These are the life skills that help children thrive long after the final whistle blows.
Our Approach
Combined with our coaches' teaching experience and diverse sporting specialisms, we create an inclusive, friendly, and challenging environment for children to develop in.
At TeamMates we believe in the power of sports and team building activities to instil important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.
Our Mentors
The journey doesn’t end at Year 7. Our Mentor Programme allows former TeamMates to transition into leaders, guiding the next generation while developing their own leadership skills. It’s the first step in our "Mentor to Coach" pathway—a cycle of growth we are incredibly proud of.
Our Coaches
The heart of TeamMates. Most of our coaches began as TeamMates themselves, graduating through our mentor scheme. We invest in their future through regular training, observations, and feedback, ensuring that whether they are with us for one year or ten, they remain a vital part of the team.
